Congrats to athletes honored as nationally ranked "Defensive Dandies" by prepvolleyball.com this year: I only included snippets of the blurb on each kids since prepvolleyball.com is a pay-per-view site.

1st up are Dandy Lions who are players who play libero or DS primarily on their HS and club team and who will continue to do so in college.

FIFTH TEAM
Emily Litwin, Jr., Sacred Heart (Buffalo NY) – Widely regarded as one of the top defenders in New York, Litwin...is a powerful, highly-skilled defender who made in that title match what many claim was one of the top game-changers in the 2009 season when she ran down a dug ball 25 feet off the court before crashing into the stands... (Rumor is Emily will be a scholarship defender for Binghamton in 2011.)

Next up were "Defensive Dandies:" These are athletes who may play as an attacker for their HS and/or club team but are slated as backrow players in college.

Second Team:

Hannah Herc, Sr., Eden (NY) – First Team All State and First Team All Western New York as a dynamic outside hitter on the best team in the Empire State, Herc will play libero at Kent State....also possesses a lethal jump serve that should score points for the Golden Flashes.

Lauren Metzger, Jr., North Tonawanda (NY) – ...Metzger, who was a member of the 2009 U.S. Youth National Training Team, is lightning quick and jumps high. She has committed to playing back row for Georgia in 2011.

Fifth Team:
Kendall Pierce, Soph., Eden (NY) – Pierce earned a six-rotation starting spot on one the top prep programs in the East and is one of the state’s top defenders in any class.....

Congrats, girls!
