Dominican Republic and Peru join USA and Cuba in 2011 FIVB World Grand Prix

The Dominicans will meet USA at PST 19:00, 10:00 Eastern Standard Time.

Tijuana, Mexico, June 24, 2010 - The Dominican Republic and Peru joined USA and Cuba in qualification to next year’s FIVB World Grand Prix by reaching the semifinal round of the Ninth Women’s Volleyball Pan American Cup on Thursday in Tijuana, Mexico.

For the Dominican Republic, a familiar side in the annual premier women’s competition, it will be their eighth consecutive participation in the twelve-team event while Peru will be returning for the first time since 1994.

In the quarterfinal phase of the Pan Am Cup, the Dominican Republic defeated Puerto Rico in straight sets.
