Logan Tom swings for a point against China during the 2008 Olympic Games

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Aug. 12, 2010) – The U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team has made a slight adjust to its roster for the second preliminary weekend of the FIVB World Grand Prix taking place Aug. 13-15 at Bangkok, Thailand.

U.S. Women’s National Team Head Coach Hugh McCutcheon (Christchurch, New Zealand) has added outside hitter and three-time Olympian Logan Tom (Salt Lake City, Utah) to the Pool D roster and made no other player personnel changes. Each team can carry up to 14 players per weekend and designate 12 players to suit up prior to each match. Last week Team USA competed with a 13-player roster at Gdynia, Poland, and finished with a 1-2 record and three points. The Americans are currently in eighth place in the 12-team annual event that has a total of nine preliminary round matches over the course of three weekends before the top five teams plus host country compete in the Final Round Aug. 25-29 at Ningbo, China.
