This isn't the newest of news, but I hadn't seen it posted on here.

From Springfield College, which boasts plenty of Western NY players...
AJ Nally (Mcquaid/Pace) took home AVCA National D3 Player of the Year (first at Springfield to receive the honor) and First Team.
Cal Palumbo (Hilton/Pace) grabbed First team honors for a third straight year (pretty impressive).

Check it out on their homepage:

Cal Palumbo pounded out 13 kills, hitting .524, to go along with seven blocks to lead the Springfield College men's volleyball team past host Carthage College, 3-0, in the semifinals of the 2010 Molten Division III Men's Invitational Volleyball Championship on Friday evening.

AVCA National Player of the Year AJ Nally finished the match with a team-best 14 kills to go along with nine digs and four blocks.

It's very impressive that Nally has come back, less than a year removed from surgery to fix a torn shoulder labrum (an injury that frequently ends baseball pitchers' careers), to win D3 player of the year. Nice job AJ!

And Palumbo is just a beast.

I knew that Nally kid would never amount to anything in college....oh wait....nevermind!
