Looking for something to do the day after Thanksgiving instead of battling the crowds at the mall?

Here's the info..............

Where: Hot Shots Indoor Volleyball Center

Who: CJ Denk, Head Clinician

When: Friday, November 23rd

Time: 9am - 1pm

Cost: $40 per player includes lunch

This camp is designed to introduce indoor and intermediate beach players to advanced beach skills and techniques. This camp will cover ALL aspects of the beach game and is a great cross-training opportunity for indoor players too.

To register for this camp.......... email me at [email protected] or contact Sal @ Hot Shots 461-1220

In my haste to get out this information I gave an incorrect date in the first message. The date of this event is Friday, NOVEMBER 23rd.

Sorry about the confusion.

If CJ Denk is the head clinician ... who is going to teach ADVANCED techniques ???

Just kidding. I would help, but I will be out of the country that day. See if they'll let me back in.

The next SENIOR beach camp I run.........I'll let you know!!

GOOD LUCK getting back in the country. It might be tough for you. Make sure Otter is with you, she's easier on the eyes. That will help.

Y'know playing at the beach today, as temperatures pushed into the 80s, a light sun burn coursing across my skin, Nathan from the Amazing Race playing on the court next to us, a refreshing dip in the salty surf, and then that wonderful ache that a body has after playing just enough games on the beach, all I could think about was, Yes, I do love this so.

The 1st Juniors Beach 2s Tournament of the season is Saturday, December 1st. This event will be pool play format and run from 9am till 3:00pm at Hot Shots.

The reason for these tournaments and upcoming beach camps is to bring up the level of jrs. 2s in the area. USA Volleyball has increased their participation in the jrs. beach level and we are trying to do the same here in Western New York!

The Juniors Tournament? It is not for high school kids only. If you are 19 and under, you are still considered a Junior as far as I am concerned. So, seeing as how I am running the event, it looks like you can play.

Besides, there are some REALLY good teams that will give you some good games. By no means are you a lock to win this thing!!!!

From the teams that have signed up for the Jrs. Tournament on December 1st and the Beach Camp this Friday, November 23rd, it is easy to see that the beach game is growing by leaps and bounds in this area.

I'm very excited to see who will win the boys tournament on the 1st. Should be as good as a lot of the AA finals at Charlotte last season!

"If CJ Denk is the head clinician ... who is going to teach ADVANCED techniques ???"

I am not sure if anyone will ever be ready to embrace 'bip' and 'spoon'.
They have caused alot of psychological damage to people like otter.

btw...good for you denk keeping the game off life support for new players, after years of trying to make people want to quit and hide under the bed.

sounds very positive stuff.

It's because the people he beats are very old ........ now he's shooting for the ones who are very young !!!

After the tournaments, he tells the top few teams to come out to the next adult tournament, then the real schooling begins!!!!

So by hanging out with mostly 11 year olds I could be a monster at the net?

...whatever it takes to create the future regular players is all good.
