Im just looking to hear some opinions on who puts together the best quality teams for tournaments? This question was brought up at a recent tourney at Hot Shots and I was surprised to hear some of the 'results'. It was about mens indoor sixes. Thoughts and opinions?? Lets hear them. Thanks

Mens? Adult? Tournaments? We still have them here? In the day when Karch was king we had HUGE mens tournaments in the area, unfortunately the tide has turned and they are far and few between..... |

We have them out here from time to time. Some are co-ed, some are in Erie (or near Erie.) But there's not very many of these tournaments, because most of the top Men's players compete in the Thursday night 4 Stallions leauge.....or they sit and drink beer. |

I heard the buffalo tourney went ok. Only a couple quality overall teams but they had, I heard 20+ teams. There seems to be a mens 6s tourney at hot shots ~once/month. S I just cant only stand playing a match or 2 in a bar league and just doing it for social/drinking purposes. I really enjoy all day tourneys. Where pool play is min of 8 games to 25 and you have semis and finals. So no one has any thoughts on really good mens teams that play consistently or the person(s) that put those teams together from whatever area. |

Maybe the Stallions league people should talk to the Bay View league people in Rochester and see if they can put together an interleague tournament somewhere.

I heard the "Men's tournament" in Buffalo had two teams of "old guys" ... probably over 25, but that the rest of the teams were either college kids or even a couple juniors teams. |

Ive tried to get into the last three HotShots tournaments and they have been full with a wait list
I play B at bayview and have played a couple there the past few years and the competition has barely any teams from Roc all the teams are from other areas.
I heard the Power Division is featuring these teams: Repich/Chase Murtha/Fabro O'dells Matthews/Barr Hosley/Short Bonn/Harpo Shorkey/D'Angelo
I would not call this a bar league tournament
If I can't get into a regular pool, I still stop down and watch. The only true Mens Club in Rochester that I know of is Club Distillery & this year Blizzard out of Buffalo...I'm The Old Guy in the back with Red Hair
The O'dells consistently put in solid teams & Shorkey uses Roc guys
I got into Volleyball late in life and have really enjoyed it. If someone knows how to get ahold of Ryan Repich I would say he's your best bet
I see him tue/sun randomly playing in the stronger league at Bayview, If you live in Rochester and want to play hardcourt there is no other option

The Power Division featured these teams: Repich Murtha - bagged O'dells Matthews Hosley Bonn Shorkey
One pool of 6 strong teams. Very good tourney. Was very surprised. Teams were splitting everywhere. Top 3 teams made it on. Shorkey and Hosley at 7-3 and Matthews at 6-4. Shorkeys team got the bye into the finals by splitting with Hosley in pool play but beating them on points. Hosley team beat Matthews in semis and then came back to beat Shorkeys team in finals. Great great day of mens vball. Also very nice to see the top ladies playing. Lot of fit athletic women playing. |

Another Men's Power Indoor tournament tomorrow at Hotshots. The Pace 18-1's will be playing as well. Should be interesting. |

Is there any dates for Adult tournaments this year, I enjoyed watching last year. Is there anyone that could help get me on a team this year, I'm new to the sport but confident I could contribute or compete but not sure who the right contact for help would be ? |

I think the Roc/Buff VB community is very family oriented...its nice to see I'm new to the area 30yrs old and looking for a group of organized guys that like to play high level ball and travel alittle. I just want to play
My wife got transfered out here and when I was checking out the area I heard about HotShots at one of the local gyms and checked out a tourny last Spring. It seemed like a great atmosphere with good competition.
The previous cities we have lived in had really no Volleyball community. Its pretty cool seeing such enthusiasm for the sport!
