Interesting.... The best TV coverage for volleyball in an Olympic games ever, and not a peep on the message board. My theory on the decline of volleyball interest in Rochester once again confirmed. Anyone have any thoughts on the United States chance of taking down #2 Italy in the indoor competition? Gibb and Rosenthal meeting up with Rego and Emanuel in quarters? A chance for an all USA gold medal beach volleyball match? May and Walsh's ridiculous dominance? At least the jrs scene in Rochester is still alive. Huge tourney this past weekend. Props to Cj for facilitating that.

Not a lack of interest... Just trying to keep our heads above water with playing vball - league, beach, etc. and watching the Olympics (everyone is walking around bleary-eyed because we've stayed up too late to watch - and oh, by the way, when will we ever have time to watch what's on DVR???)
And, high-school try-outs/practice starts today. And don't forget about spending time fund-raising...
I see the Rochester-area volleyball community as being fully engaged. Just not a lot of time to post. And you're right, the Olympic volleyball coverage has been great! |

Dalhouser is what a goon is supposed to be.
Goon: (see Dalhouser)
I dont generally watch prety boy type pro events, but this is a fine example of what a goon should dtrive to be. Dont ask questions just block toward the middle of the court. serve hard and slam the door in the deciding match.
Good goon, sit goon.....goon want a cookie?

You may think of Dalhausser as a goon, but how many goons can hand set that well and consistently on the beach?
I saw him play two years ago in Vegas, he has come a LONG way since then. He can block, hit, and set. And his jump serve is off the charts. I'm not saying he's the next Karch, but it seems to be possible. |

I think Eben and Billy could vouch for him, too. |

Goon is a great thing to be. He should cherish the role of squashing fabio like roadkill and sealing the deal like a champ. If Rogers would stop guessing on D they would have swept in two. Dalhauser is a great player you are right...and had some great ups for a player of any size.

Otter is coaching, parenting and catching up on the sleep after watching what she considers great volleyball. Not just blocking, missed serves and very few rally's.
She is more pissed that I still don't consider soccer a sport. Anything you could do to tick her off (and forget she's mad at me so often) would be greatly appreciated.

You sure he just hasn't hired child actors?
If anyone is interested, I have a copy of the complete mens GM match. It is the Euro-sport feed. The sound is slightly out of sync, but it is still watchable. If you want a copy, Paypal $3 to me at mike @ rochestervball . com and I'll burn you a couple CD's or DVD (your choice). Remember to include your address.
