Great effort by Pace 17s this weekend winning Nittany qualifier. After loosing in a seeding pool earlier in the day to Crush (Ontario) they came back and beat them in the finals. Very high level gold medal bracket - with the addition of the Canadian teams this gold medal bracket was stronger than any outside the west coast. Well done gents.

And, they lost that 2nd game something like 25-14...

In the semis Pace knocked off Samurai from Quebec in three close games - Samurai & Yorktowne were the most physical teams in the 17s division.

It was an interesting tournament - there were a number of strong teams and a lot of weak teams. Not too much in the middle. Saturday pool winners got automatic byes into the gold bracket. Two very good teams didn't make it to the gold division: LIVBC 17-1 and Orlando Gold. Some poor initial seeding led to some pretty tough last matches on Saturday and some really difficult Sunday elimination pools: the toughest one by far was LIVBC, Yorktowne, Orlando and Lakeside. Only 2 advanced to gold.

Wish we could see the Canadian teams more often.

Yes Congrats to Pace 17's..... Great Job. Tough day for the 18's though getting bounced pretty good down into the silver bracket. Didn't look in sync all day and got beat by some mediocre teams... 18 finals were - Eden LIVBC Orlando Gold and MAC.

I don't know where that statement about the 18s came from, but it is pretty off. The team went 4-0 on Saturday and then the first match of Sunday was the Gold -Silver match. The Pace 18s lost in 3 to the Florida Sun 16-14. That would be the only match the 18s would lose all weekend. They actually looked in sync toward the end of the day but I doubt anyone got to see them since they all lost and went home. Someone has to win the silver bracket..Congrats to Pace 18s.

Congrats to Steve and the 17s. Nice Win. Style points for sending their only loss of the tourney home in the finals.

The 18s division had a weird thing on Sunday morning where their 1st match was for gold/silver, and if they won their 2nd match was for seeding in the bracket. That didn't make sense - Saturday pool winners got nothing but a chance to play a 2nd place team from the day before in the first match of the day to see who stayed up in gold. Pretty crappy to have a one /done early morning match on sunday. At least the pool winners in 17s advanced to gold. Would have been better to have another round of true pool play somewhere even if it was three team pools and maybe a smaller number of teams in final gold bracket.
