Gold was VFX 18-2 NFVB 17-1 NFVB 18-1 Conn Jrs 18-1 Vfx 18-1 and one other...maybe Downstate 18-1?
Semis NFVB 17-1 def NFVB 18-1 in 3...15-13 in 3rd VFX 18-1 def Conn Jrs in 2?
Finals NFVB 17-1 def VFX 18-1 in 3.
NFVB 17-1 1 had a rough game 1.....way too many people thought the match was over after VFX 18-1 destroyed them in game 1 25-6. Not easy to beat a good team like that 3 game in a row as NFVB 17's had won 2 straight in pool play in the morning.
Thats why they play game 2.....and then 3.
NFVB 17's are flat out gamers who defend and serve like banshies!
Congrats.
Nice job VFX people...tourney ran smoothly......refs were solid!
Silver Final.....was Academy vs VFX 16-1's (who had a fantastic tourney btw )
I fee confident that WEVA will be very well represented at Dayton in 2 weeks |

Not bad from NFVB 16-1's without 3 starters on Day 1 and 2 on Day 2. got into Gold out of tough pool: played TIVA 18-1 very tough in Silver semis after only losing to 1,2, & 3 Gold finishers.
Looking forward to when this team gets healthy again. |

questions:
1] was there supposed to be medals for silver champs?
2] we had a a 3-way tie for 1st in Saturday's ist pool. according to the way I read the info sheet:
"One 25-point tie breaking set(s) will ONLY be played if it is for GOLD bracket participation. Off team works the playoff set. 1) Tie for 1st, then 2nd and 3rd seeds play for 2nd place finish 2) Tie for 2nd, then 2nd seed plays 3rd seed and winner plays 1st seed for 2nd place finish."
should there have been a playoff since it determined who was in gold and who was in silver?
any replys are appreciated!

maybe I'm confused in reading the rules again. The playoff would only take the place of a coin flip? In other words, tie breakers a and b would be used before a playoff? |

Please explain your scenario. What teams? unclear which pool or which round you are talking about. |

Did I read that right. 18-1 FX won first game 25-6 only to lose last two. Knowing who's on that team I'm surprised that would happen.
Any all tourney info/mvp ?? |

Pool C in the 18's at Brockport, 3 teams ended up 2-1. Just curious how the tiebreaker was or should have been executed.
More interested in why no medals for silver winners. |

Actually, that 25-6 game was the only fluke game of playoffs. NFVB 17-1's had already beaten FX solidly earlier in the day in 2 straight. After that game, the 17's really took control of the match like they did earlier in the day. Lots of future D-I players on that team. One thing that does puzzle me is that NFVB hasn't even appeared to have put all its best players on one team with most of them split between their 18-1's and 17-1's. both teams are still very good, but I think that had they done that, they would have walked thruogh this tourney today.
No MVPs are given for these NETS tourneys, but probably would go to NF 17's setter or one of the Herc twins. complete, big-time players. |

Kudos to Niagara Frontier if they haven't put all of their best talent on one team! That's one of the ways that the regions' level of play can increase as there will be more competition hereabouts to play against. Kind of what you see in Chicago, Kentucky/Indiana, Houston and SoCal. Perhaps in some future years our more established squads wouldn't need to travel so much. |

Probably by April.....joking.
They aren't the best for posting results online though. Hopefully it will be in the next few days. |

Here's to VFX for running the largest tournament in the region this early in the season! With basketball season going on, it must have been tough to get courts.
Great tournament! |

So where are the Hocus Pocus results already? I see that the BNCC already has their results up from both their 14's and 16's tourneys that ran this weekend. It's been a while. Just asking.
Rumor is Mary Wise (Florida) was one of the coaches in the BNCC recruiting players this past month. That's something. |

I don't see pool play and playoffs scores....those are most helpful. |

Previous posts indicate the tournament ran smoothly, except for lack of posting results, including pool play and playoffs. I don't believe I've ever seen FX post results on this site. Why don't you just go to the source and ask the club for the information? (Buffalo may be more efficient in this area but they probably have more manpower too.) |

No one said tourney didn't run smoothly. People running tourneys around here probably have it figured out by now. Lots of club people roam this site--it's as good place as any (since it is a vball community message board) to inquire about results. earlier posters had asked for the same.
Anyway, thanks for the info vball712. |

We (Premiere), as well as Xtreme 18-1, are going to Capitol Hill in DC. Braving the snow-but it should be fine. We'll see how it turns out, should be pretty cool. And, almost the same driving distance as Columbus... |

As are Xtreme 16-1s and 15-1s. Yeah, why go west (Columbus/Dayton) when you can go south (DC). DOH!
