Nothing much locally, but perhaps the NJ site is doable, unless someone wants a summer volleyball vacation.

The AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour today announced the return and expansion of AVP Juniors Camps. This season’s program will feature camps held in conjunction with eight AVP Tour events.

“A successful AVP Camps program is a critical part of our Volleyball Nation outreach strategy,” said Jason Hodell, AVP CEO. “We look forward to building off last year’s AVP Camps success and roughly doubling the size of the program.”

“Being on site, the kids will not only be taught the classic beach fundamentals, but they will have an opportunity to experience the soul of the game and a sense of the possibilities,” said Mike Dodd, AVP commissioner. “Teaching young people to appreciate and enjoy our game is a responsibility the AVP accepts with pride.”

Current and former AVP players, along with experienced guest coaches, will teach girls and boys ages 8-18 training techniques to improve their sand and indoor games with skills demonstrations, drills and workouts designed specifically for their skill and age level. Small courts, lower nets and lighter balls will be used for campers age 12 and below.

With demand for sand volleyball instruction at an all-time high following the sport’s approval as an emerging NCAA sport, AVP Camps offer an unparalleled place to learn sand volleyball from the pros.

Campers will get ample attention with a participant-to-coach ratio of 10-to-1 or lower. Participants will receive a camp T-shirt, AVP volleyball, complimentary admission to AVP matches, lunch, autographs and more. For more details on 2010 camps, click here.
