After older NFVB teams again performed very well at the prestegious SPVB GLC National Junior Classic: the 17's made the Gold bracket, losing Sports Performance Elite in a tight 3-game Gold Bracket match and the 15's going 6-1 and finishing 3rd overall, the next weekend, the 12's and 13's did them one better: they won the whole thing. The 12's won the club bracket and the 13's won the Open bracket, which included Sports Performance Elite, Milwaukee Sting Gold, and Sky High 12-1's who they beat in the finals in 2 straight. Great job, girls!

12-1 and 13-1 Capture Gold at Sports Performance Youth Classic

12-1s after their win.
Congrats to the NFVB 12-1 and the 13-1 for each winning in the finals of their respective Championship brackets at the Sports Performance Youth Classic held at the Great Lakes Center and the Illinois Basketball Academy (IBA) near Chicago, IL.
The 12-1’s went undefeated in match play in the 12 Club division beating teams from Sports Performance, Sky High and the Nebraska Volleyball Academy in the finals 25-13, 25-15. The 12s played very aggressive all tournament long. Lexi Novak brought the team back many times with her clutch serving. Caitlyn Meyers played a super back row as the libero all tourney long. Megan Jepson and Bailey Dolegowski did a fantastic job setting our hitters as well as tipping to score at very appropriate times. Meghan Neelon, Jessica Krantz, and Carly Shifflet provided a very strong attack at the net keeping the opponents defenses scrambling!
The 13-1 only loss in the 13 Open division was to Sports Performance 13 Elite but took wins against all other teams including SkyHigh 13 Black who they beat in the finals 25-23, 25-20.
The players and coaches on both squads represented the NFVB club against two of the toughest fields they’ve faced all season. Full tournament results can be found on-line here. Well done girls!!!!!!! Great season!!!!!!!
