WI kept it interesting but too many unforced errors.
McQ was pretty tough - so many weapons - Desino, O'dell, Lynch, Palermo, Combs, Urlaub - who do you block? And Seeger and AJ passing. Neither team served well.

But Rush beat McQ once anyway so Wednesday should be good.

Tyler Blank is a great player. probably one of the best in his age group . Don't forget that it takes a team , not one great player to win a title. it is still a team sport, with 6 guys out there at all time. Does eastridge have the floor power to support Blank? Brighton even without etan and anyadeep is a decent team!

I believe that Eastridge's JV team is made almost entirely of middle schoolers... in a school like that, volleyball will always take a back seat to the more traditional sports. It's a shame, really, but programs have to find ways to bring in interest from the students, especially at a young age. I would love to see town feeder programs (outside of Pace) that really develop interest and young talent on a town-to-town basis. I think I might be dreaming though

Brighton without Etan would probably be a middle of the road team. I don't know what their bench is like for Outside, but he's a dominant force and a definite show stopper. and of all the kids on the court, I really wouldn't pick anyadeep as their second best. I think that their libero, opposite, setter, and even other middle deserve mention before he does. Especially the libero, from what i saw, he saves games for a team who's block isnt always there

I don't think there is anything before the class A finals, so i don't know why it is so late.

Obviously losing a player like Etan will drop Brighton down a bit. However, they have 5 sophomores on varsity now, and start 3. Their JV team won 15 games, and has 4 who play pace. They will clearly drop to middle of the pack losing a talent like Etan, but their future is pretty solid it seems. Their other outside is a player who does not get much recognition due to not playing pace. However, he is a sophomore, an all-county player, and will continue to improve. It will be interesting to see how they replace Etans all-around play and leadership. IF they can come close, they will be ok.

Tyler Blank is clearly one of the best sophomores in the county, and he will continue to lead Eastridge. However, with such a small team, and a JV with all 8th graders, it seems they would have to recruit some to make a push in the county. I hope that they do, they have a great coach, and some great players.

That is a strong prediction about Eastridge but with without Etan, Brighton does not have the same firepower and does not have any one to fill his shoes while hes gone

Good thing the A game is not on Tuesday, they would be playing it like 10:00 at night. Maybe the A game is at 8 so all the boys and girls bball teams at Webster can have practice first.
