10-4 Serve Pass
OBJECTIVE:
Develop team passing skills vs. live serving. This is a good pass,
set, hit warm up drill for experienced teams, and a skill building
drill for less expereinced teams.
DIRECTIONS:
- The team is divided into two groups of passers, each with a setter.
- Team 2 begins by serving to Team 1.
- The passings' team goal is to pass well enough for the setter
to make an overhand set.
- The receiving team must be successful 10 times before they make
4 errors. A missed serve counts as a success.
- The first team to their goal (passers - 10, servers - 4) earns
a point.
- The teams switch roles.
- The game is to 5 points.
VARIATIONS:
- Allow the passers to attack the ball.

Remember the best drill is any drill that the players pass, set, and hit in.
You should be teaching your players skills, not drills.
